Cranberry Baked Brie
Cranberry Baked Brie is a delicious melted cheese appetizer that is great to serve for fall entertaining and holidays.
Brie is one of the most fabulous cheeses out there. And when it’s baked, it becomes even more amazing. This Cranberry Baked Brie is so delicious with spiced cranberry sauce topping all of that gooey, melted cheese. Grab a few baguette slices, and you’ve got yourself an appetizer that will be the hit of the room.
How to make Cranberry Baked Brie:
The first thing you’re going to do is cut the top off of the brie. Take a sharp knife and place it under the top edge of the rind. Slide the knife into the center and then gently move it around the brie. Lift off the top, remove and discard. Be careful– you don’t want to remove a bunch of the cheese along with the rind!
Next, place the cut brie on a baking sheet. Top it with a mix of cranberry sauce, brown sugar, rum or orange extract and nutmeg. Toasted pecans are placed on top.
How to toast pecans:
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F. Spread the chopped pecans on a small baking sheet and bake until scented and lightly browned. Watch closely because they’ll burn if unattended.
The brie is then baked for 10 minutes or so until it has softened. The longer you bake it, the more gooey the cheese will be.
How to keep brie warm:
To keep the brie warm on your serving table, place pie plate in the upper rack of a two-tiered dessert tray. Put a plate on the bottom tier with tea-lites. Your brie will stay nice and hot. Alternately, just serve it right out of the oven, and it will be gone before it cools off!
What to serve with baked brie:
Serve this cranberry baked brie appetizer with sliced baguette and/or crackers. Serve it immediately since it’s best when that cheese is all melted and gooey. It won’t last long because everyone loves a good baked brie recipe!
Depending how gooey your cheese is, you may be able to dip your bread and crackers right into the top of the brie and pull it out with all of the good stuff attached to it. As it cools down, you’ll want to use a spreader to scoop up the brie and cranberry and spread it on top of your bread. This is one appetizer that is hard to say no to. Enjoy!

Cranberry Baked Brie
Ingredients
- One 5 to 6-inch round brie cheese
- 2/3 cup whole cranberry sauce, crushed
- 1/4 cup packed light brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon rum or orange extract
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 cup chopped pecans, toasted
Instructions
-
Preheat the oven to 500° F. Place the brie on a baking sheet or pie plate.
-
Cut off the top rind of your brie cheese round, leaving 1/4-inch rim around the edge. First cut the circle into the top of the round, then position the knife horizontally and gently cut under the rind around the circle to remove the top. If this is too difficult to do, you can also heat the brie a bit to soften the cheese and make it easier to remove the rind.
-
In a medium bowl, combine the cranberry sauce, sugar, rum or orange extract and nutmeg. Spoon the cranberry mixture onto the prepared brie, and sprinkle with the pecans.
-
Bake for 5 to 10 minutes, or until the brie is soft and warm.
-
Serve with assorted crackers or baguette slices.
Notes
- *Serving suggestion: If you have one, serve the brie on top of a two-tiered rack. Place a plate on the bottom rack with tea-lite candles. This will help keep the brie warm during your party.
