The Grackle

Over on East 6th, increasingly surrounded by condo developments, lies this very fine dive bar with cheap drinks and one of Austin’s best whiskey selections. The Grackle’s dimly-lit interior has darts and pool, and there’s a spacious covered patio out front. It’s oddly never too crowded, and there’s sometimes even parking out front. Currently in The Grackle’s parking lot is Arlo’s, serving plant-based renditions of comfort food like hamburgers and french fries.

The Best Easy Peanut Butter Pie

And when I say easy, I really do mean easy. Like, cream cheese, peanut butter, sugar, and Cool Whip kind of easy. If this combination makes you raise your eyebrows, you’re not wrong. But I wouldn’t lie to you: somehow this gang of ingredients comes together to make a layer of fluffy peanut buttery filling that is pillowy, light, and incredibly rich all at the same time.
